YOU CAN AFFORD
TREATMENT IN AMERICA

Among the many reasons why international patients choose Shady Grove Fertility is because affording care is simplified by our two exclusive programmes designed to make treatment less stressful and more successful.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT

We recognise that couples in the UK have a number of donor options available to them, and that affording care in U.S. can be more expensive than most. One of the main reasons for this is the emphasis that we, at Shady Grove Fertility, place on our donors. While most couples are content with having minimal choice and knowledge of their donor, a significant amount want to be more involved in their baby’s identity. To help couples afford our higher costs for extensive prescreening, medication, and donor fees, we have created two exclusive programmes to make treatment more affordable and successful. One programme guarantees a 100 percent refund if our patients don’t deliver a baby. The other allows donor eggs to be shared, reducing the cost without compromising success.

89% of our UK patients choose to share a donor and participate in the 100% Refund option, which gives them the best of both worlds when it comes to achieving their goals – delivering a baby without going broke in the process.

SHARED RISK 100% REFUND PROGRAMME

We understand that couples are very anxious about affording care and about treatment that may not have a successful outcome on the first attempt. Shady Grove Fertility created the Shared Risk 100% Refund Programme, for patients paying out of pocket for treatment, allowing them to pursue multiple treatments for one flat fee without the worry of cost versus chances of success, and without sacrificing high-quality medical care.

How Our Shared Risk 100% Refund Programme Works

The programme entitles the patient to undergo up to six fresh cycles and unlimited frozen embryo transfers (FETs), and only pay the equivalent of two cycles. When our patients have a successful delivery we have earned the fee. If they do not have a successful delivery, they will receive 100% refund.  Patients are not obligated to pursue a specific number of cycles and can stop at any time and still receive a 100% refund. Ninety percent of our patients choose the Shared Risk Programme and 82 percent of our UK patients in this programme take home a baby.

Some costs not included in this programme are

  • Normal prescreening tests
  • Medication for the recipient
  • Surgeries not related to IVF
  • Recruitment or purchase fees for donor sperm or donor egg

We counsel the patient’s carefully about the pros and cons of this option, including the reality that if they have a baby on their first cycle they would have paid the equivalent of twice the usual single cycle fee. We understand this concern and there is no difference in the medical treatment provided based on whether patients pay a fee for service fee or a shared risk fee. The Shared Risk option simply allows us, at Shady Grove Fertility, to assume the bulk of the financial responsibility for your care.

SHARED DONOR EGG PROGRAMME

The Shared Donor Egg Programme was also developed to make treatment even more affordable for our patients. It can reduce the cost of donor egg treatment by up to 50 percent and can be combined with our Shared Risk 100% Refund Programme for Donor Egg.

By sharing donated eggs with one or two other recipients, patients can share the cost of the donor, the most expensive part of treatment. We are well practiced in synchronising each recipients’ treatment cycle with the donor, without compromising our patients’ chances for success.

An analysis of more than 2,000 donor egg cycles at Shady Grove Fertility clearly demonstrated that the majority of egg donors will produce enough eggs to share with more than one recipient.

  • On average, an egg donor will produce 21 eggs in a single cycle; 60 percent (13) of those eggs are fertilized and 60 percent (eight) of the fertilized eggs produce good-quality embryos.
  • We will only proceed with a cycle if four mature eggs are available for a recipient
  • Our goal is to transfer one good-quality blastocyst embryos to the recipient. If any extra blastocyst embryos remain, we can freeze them.

The response to this innovative programme has been beyond expectation. Even more exciting, there has been no decrease in success rates when recipients share donor eggs. We are proud to provide a treatment that achieves excellent pregnancy rates at an affordable cost.
